Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is a challenging and difficult procedure  because of the following:

1. Scar tissue from previous surgery can affect results.
2. Changes made to the nose may affect its structural support and stability.
3. Nasal anatomy can be more complex due to previous surgeries.
4. Achieving a natural and harmonious appearance with previous changes can be difficult.
5. Patient's expectations can be high and unrealistic.

In revision rhinoplasty, Dr Samer may need to augment or reshape the nose using additional cartilage. The sources of cartilage for these procedures can include:

1. Autografts: Cartilage taken from the patient's own body, often from the septum, ear, or rib.
2. Allografts: Cartilage taken from a cadaver and used as a transplant.

The choice of cartilage source for revision rhinoplasty will depend on a number of factors, including the desired result, the patient's anatomy, and the availability of cartilage.
